All Day Long

I'm gonna write a little jingle to describe my first semester so far...

Eat eat eat, all day long
Eat eat eat while I sing this song
I eat in the morning and in the afternoon
I eat when it's sunny and when I see the moon
Here I eat, there I eat, everywhere I eat, eat

Yup, that pretty much sums it up. At first, I was eating so much because I was hungry, and I craved certain things. Then I ate so much because the only time I didn't feel nauseous was when I was eating. If I went too long without eating, I would feel SO sick. I am finally getting out of the nausea phase (hopefully) and I hope that my eating habits will be able to go back to normal. I am a little nervous to see my weight when I go back to the Dr. in 3 weeks. I have already gained enough to cover my entire first trimester and a good chunk of my second. Sigh....

Ahhhh pregnancy - quite the adventure I got myself into. And it's just begun! :)

And for a little bit of sunshine, this is where I wish I could be right now. Babymoon maybe? I wish!

Ok, Ok, Ok!!!

I'll finally post. I've intended to post for the last few days, but I've felt so horrible, I just couldn't muster up the energy (or brain power). But, calm before (or just after?) the storm? Either way, I am feeling better...at the moment. What could be responsible for this occurrence? Well, I called my NP to see if there was something I could take for the horrible all-day-long nausea I was experiencing. She suggested I try 50mg of Vitamin B6 2x/day with Unisom. Well, since Unisom is both a sleep aid and expensive, I decided to just give the B6 a whirl. It seems to be helping. Am I cured? Not quite. But I am definitely feeling better. I'll take it! :)

After having such awful nausea for 10 DAYS, I informed DH this will be my 1 and only pregnancy!!!!! We will have to adopt the next 3 ;) Hehe But then I decided, maybe we should take things one child at a time.

My baby bump is beginning to make an appearance. How.Exciting!!! I can't wait for my big round belly! And I just feel like our little bean is nice and healthy in there. That's a good feeling.

After being SO convinced that we were pregnant with a boy, I am starting to toy with the idea that it might be a girl. I'm happy either way. Elated, actually :D

And, by request, here are some of my garage sale finds (the only productive thing I managed to accomplish last weekend) :)

What's Cookin' Good Lookin?

Our little bean is lookin' good :) He/she has a heart rate of 125 bpm, which I guess is good. DH was just elated when the baby popped up on the screen. He was smiling ear to ear! He even got to see the heart beat. It is nice to put a picture to this little bean that is causing me to be so sick! And drum roll please...Making his/her first appearance....little bean Borntrager!!!

I decided to stay home and rest this weekend instead of volunteering in Wisconsin. The nausea seems to have settled a little bit, at times. Other times it is pretty intense (like when I decide eating Wendy's would be a good idea). I got a Sea Band from Target that is supposed to help with the nausea. It seems to be helping a little bit.

I'm thinking about going to the Peapods sidewalk sale tomorrow...up to 75% of baby items!?!!?! That's my kind of day of R&R :)

Next hurdle, attempting to eat tacos. We'll see.

Poop - Poop on a stick

That is how I am feeling! Like poop-on-a-stick! The constant nausea all day is really starting to get to me. At this point I am almost wondering if it would just be better to throw up. As much as I hate it, I think I would prefer throwing up a couple times a day and being done with it rather than have nausea all day long. I know this is really common, but it doesn't make it any easier. I'm almost wondering if I should ask my Nurse Practitioner (NP) for some nausea meds. The Queasy Drops aren't seeming to help :( I am thinking about getting one of those sea-sickness bands and seeing if that will help. I'd try anything at this point.

The good news is, all this sickness means our little bean is happy and growing in my belly :) I'm 7 weeks now...Here is a picture of what our little bean looks like at this point (approximately):

It has little arms and little legs! How. Cute! Can you imagine my little baby swimming around in there?!?! Hehehe

We get to hear the heart beat tomorrow at our first ultrasound! :) Yippppeeee!

I am supposed to be volunteering at a dental clinic all weekend in Wisconsin this weekend, but if this nausea doesn't subside a little bit, I just don't know how helpful I will be...I need to decide soooooooon...

Peapods (St. Paul) is having their sidewalk sale this weekend with tons of baby items majorly on sale!!!! The only problem, I am supposed to be in Wisconsin! Hmmmmm....Anyone want to scope it out for me? ;)

And finally, some ADORABLE baby clothes :)

Baby Books, Galore!

As a break from my 7 hour day of studying, I thought I would take full advantage of the children's book sale they had going on at Border's :) I got so many cute books! I can't wait to put them in the nursery come August...although, I should probably find a book shelf to put them on. I guess I better do another round of garage sales ;)

I was thinking earlier about what I should leave for people to get us for a baby shower. I don't want to leave any big stuff really, because I don't want people to spend a lot of money on us. So, I figured I would suggest some of my bargain stores:
1. TJ Max
2. Nordstrom Rack
3. Garage sales
4. Mode (Maple Grove)
5. Etsy shops
6. Stores that are having big sales (Like Gymboree and BabiesRUs)

That's all I can think of right now...but I am sure I will think of more eventually :)

I've been feeling quite pregnant lately. Food aversions, nausea (luckily no vomiting yet *knock on wood*), heightened sense of smell, "growing pains," fatigue, and varying moods. Oh yeah, and we can't forget the ever-growing baby belly :) I was hoping the nausea was going to be short lived, but it seems to want to stick around for a while. It happens to want to accompany me ALL day. Lovely. I keep trying to remind myself that it is a good thing and it means that our little bean is nice and happy in there...even is mama isn't! I am getting better at dealing with it. With the nausea comes strong food aversions. They aren't the same things throughout the day. At times I can't even imagine eating sweets, and other times they sound pretty good. I don't crave sweets like a crave salty foods though. I haven't had any strong cravings yet, which I am thankful for. Although, I might develop a love for dill pickles. I had 2 at Panera today (I asked the nice lady at the register for a couple) and they were ridiculously delicious! Yuuuuummmmm! The other things that have been helping are my organic Queasy Drops. The peppermint ones are delicious!

As for the "growing pains," I thought something might be wrong... I get aching pains in my lower right side/abdomen when I have to pee. Then I got sharp pains on my right side when I stood up too fast today. I've had pulling and cramps on my right side since before I knew I was pregnant, but the fact that it is persisting made me a little worried. I read about round ligament pain (on google) and it seemed to fit the bill. All it is is stretching and pulling of the ligaments that support my rapidly growing uterus. So I am gonna go with that for now and try not to worry about it. My first ultrasound is rapidly approaching, so I guess we'll find out on Wednesday how things are going in there!

My mood has been a little up and down the last few day, which is typical for this week of this week in pregnancy (so I read). I'm just hoping the anxiousness goes away soon. Haha I'm beginning to think I'm about ready for the first trimester to be over :-D But I am sooooo glad little bean is growing in there!!

I got DH a little something for father's day! I can't write what it is because sometimes he gets a little nosy and reads my blog :-O But I hope he feels appreciated. I just know he is going to be a fabulous daddy!

I went to yoga this morning at Lululemon in Minneapolis (Free yoga - Saturdays at 9:30am). I forgot how much I love yoga...but I was definitely reminded how long it has been since I've done it! I was sooooooooo no flexible. It still felt good though! I plan on doing the new prenatal yoga DVD I just bought from Target. I hope it is a good one!!!!

Happy Father's Day to all the Papas!!!

Baby Bump

More like baby whale! I feel like everything is growing at an exponential rate! EVERYTHING! My butt barely fits in my scrub pants anymore, I highly doubt I can button any of my jeans anymore (I haven't worn them in a couple of days), I look down and I see belly. This is not right, right??? I'm only 7 weeks (almost). So, what to do, what to do? I have been swimming the past couple of days because it calms my morning (more like all day) sickness a little bit. It just seems like I am growing by the day. DH said it is normal, and that is what my body is trained to do...we'll see.

I went to the VS semi-annual sale yesterday to get a bra that actually fits (again, the exponential growing), but to no avail. I got a size up, only to get home and it be too small. Grrrr! DH was so sweet and offered to go with me to VS to get a fitting and their suggestions for a preggers like me. :)

I also made a pit stop at Gymboree - they were also having their semi-annual sale :) I got a onsie and a long-sleeve t-shirt for $5.00 total. I love a great deal!

I'm really hoping the morning sickness subsides...another long day of school tomorrow. Also, I am gonna need some beach time, ASAP! What could be cuter than a big, tan, preggers belly?!?!?! Hmmmmm....

Morning Sickness

Um...Ick! I feel like if I move too fast, I might lose my Panera Broccoli Cheddar soup. NOT a good feeling. On top of that, I just slept for 3 hours and it didn't help one bit! I really hope this is just a little bug and it isn't morning sickness! I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I HATE throwing up! I hate the feeling of having to throw up (aka nausea), I even hate the thought of throwing up. This is going to need to be temporary!

Other than that, my little bean seems to be pretty happy in there :) It has a heart beat (100-160 bpm, to be exact)! Here's a little visual of what my little bean looks like at 6 weeks (but he/she is probably MUCH cuter!).

I can't wait to see my little bean on the ultrasound on Wednesday!!!! This will put any idea of twins to rest. PLUS, I read that DHs history of twins in his family has little to no influence on whether we will have twins. And I don't have much history of twins in my family. So it's not twins. I've decided.

It is the Victoria's Secret semi-annual sale!!! I think I will be walking over there when I get done with this. DH stole the car today to fix it. A walk would probably do me good. But the sale couldn't come at a better time. I am gonna have to buy bras a cup size up so I have something my growing chest can fit into! ;)

And last, but not least, something cute to leave you with: (Funkoos - organic baby apparel. www.zulily.com)
